Alpha Phi Sigma Alpha Phi Sigma is the National Criminal Justice Honor Society, and Pi Zeta Gamma is the local chapter at Penn State New Kensington. As the only national honor society dedicated to criminal justice majors, Alpha Phi Sigma offers students numerous benefits, including:
- Membership in a nationally recognized honor society.
- Recognition for superior academic achievement, which can help with federal hiring at GS-7 level (when applicable).
- Opportunities to attend the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences (ACJS) national conference.
- Access to exclusive Alpha Phi Sigma events as well as local chapter events through Pi Zeta Gamma.
Becoming a Member
Undergraduate students are eligible for membership if they meet the following requirements:
- Minimum GPA of 3.2, both overall and in criminal justice or related courses.
- At least 45 total credit hours completed (typically by the 3rd semester or later).
